Citroen spices up My Ami with new Pop version

Max McDee, 07 November 2023

Citroen decided that it was the perfect time to update its My Ami mini EV with a Pop version. This compact electric marvel has become a social touchstone with over 43,000 units zipping through urban landscapes since its launch. Citroen wants us to see the update as a striking testament to its commitment to innovative design and customer personalization - that’s if we believe the over-hyped press release.

The My Ami Pop is instantly recognizable even from a distance. Sporting a new set of stickers, rear spoiler, new headlamp bezels, and black bumper reinforcements, the updates apparently shout 'sporty' - without actually uttering a single word.

The allure of My Ami Pop lies in its simplicity. The vehicle retains its defining features, including the black graphic strip under the windscreen and the robust rear spoiler. The latest version, however, adds infrared red stickers on the door sills and quarter windows, a color that's become synonymous with Citroen's vibrant range.

The door sticker now flaunts a stylized circle and triangle, symbols plucked from the digital gaming world, alongside the iconic number '2'. This number is the essence of My Ami Pop's design philosophy: two passengers, two identical doors, and so on. The yellow bag hook, now matching the number '2', creates a visual link between the exterior and the interior, which is dominated by orange customization.

The driving experience is enhanced with a new driving selector situated on the central console, improving ergonomics. For those connected at the hip with their smartphones, the Dat@mi connectivity box integrates your device seamlessly with the My Ami Pop, bringing all vital stats to your fingertips.

The My Ami Pop is priced at $9,860, including VAT, or can be had on a long-term lease starting from $33.28 per month. With the order books open from today, the first fleet of these vibrant vehicles is expected to grace the roads in the first quarter of 2024, across 12 countries where Ami has already carved its niche.
