Mercedes EV sales are up 51%
Mercedes just announced that its battery electric vehicle sales rose 50% in the second quarter of this year (April-June) compared to the same period last year, and 25% if compared to the first quarter of this year (January-March).
Mercedes sold 63,000 EVs in Q2, and 113,300 in the first half of this year in total. The January to June number is up by 30% compared to last year. These numbers are for the entire Mercedes Group.
For the Mercedes brand alone, EV sales in Q2 rose by 51% compared to Q2 2025, and were up to 52,900 units. Compared to Q1, the growth was 19%. In the first six months of this year, the Mercedes brand sold 97,100 EVs, up 28% compared to the first half of last year.
Mercedes says all of this growth was driven by demand in Europe, which was up by a whopping 87% in Q2 compared to the year-ago quarter. Of the 52,900 EVs Mercedes sold in Q2, 43,500 were in Europe. In Germany, Mercedes EV sales more than doubled.
Globally, EVs now represent a 13% share of Mercedes' total sales - this was just 7.7% in Q2 2025. Orders for the GLC, CLA, and GLB are apparently "reaching into the next year", according to the official press release.
