Peugeot adds two major connected services to its EVs

Peugeot is trying hard to make its electric cars more attractive to buyers. The French automaker announced that all new electric models will come with a 10-year subscription to two of its most useful connected services, e-ROUTES and Remote E-Controls, at no extra cost.
This is an important step in addressing some of the biggest concerns for potential EV owners, such as range anxiety and the complexities of charging. What do these services actually do, and will they make any difference for the average driver? Let's take a closer look.

The star of the show is arguably the e-ROUTES service, powered by Free2move Charge. It's a smart navigation system designed specifically for electric cars. Anyone who has driven an EV knows that the estimated range often feels like a wild guess.
The e-ROUTES system replaces that uncertainty with data-driven precision. It calculates the best route for your journey by considering a multitude of factors. These include the vehicle's current battery level, the locations of charging stations along the way, real-time traffic conditions, and the total distance to your destination.

What makes e-ROUTES particularly interesting is its ability to learn from your driving style. The system monitors how you drive in real-time and adjusts its energy consumption calculations accordingly. This means that if you have a bit of a heavy foot, the system will factor that into its range predictions.
You can also create specific vehicle profiles - if you're carrying a bike rack or towing a trailer, you can let the system know, and it will provide a more accurate range estimate. This level of detail is important for long trips, where an unexpected drop in range can be a big problem. The interface has also been updated to provide a clearer view of the route and live traffic updates directly on the map.

The second service included in this free 10-year package is Remote E-Controls, which is accessible through the MyPEUGEOT smartphone app. This service is all about convenience and efficiency, as it allows you to remotely manage your vehicle's charging.
You can start, stop, and schedule charging sessions to take advantage of off-peak electricity rates. There's also an option to limit the charge to 80%, which can help to extend the battery's lifespan. This may not sound like a groundbreaking feature, but the ability to control your charging from the comfort of your couch is a small luxury that many EV owners appreciate.

The Remote E-Controls service also allows you to precondition the vehicle's cabin. On a cold winter morning or a hot summer day, you can set the cabin temperature to a comfortable 70°F before you even get in the car. When the vehicle is plugged in, this preconditioning uses power from the grid, not the battery, which helps to preserve your driving range.
For owners of the new Peugeot e-3008 and e-5008 models, there's an exclusive feature that allows for remote pre-heating of the battery. This is especially useful in colder climates, as a warm battery charges more quickly and efficiently.

What's the catch? Surprisingly, there doesn't seem to be one. These services, which are part of the Connect ONE Pack, are now included in the price of all new electric and plug-in hybrid Peugeot models purchased since July 1, 2025. There are no additional subscription fees for the first 10 years.
The success of these new services will depend on how well they work in the real world. A smart navigation system that frequently crashes or a remote control app that is slow and buggy will do more harm than good. But if Peugeot has managed to create a seamless and reliable user experience, then this could be a big moment for the brand.
