Mercedes adds Amazon Music and Dolby Atmos support with a software update
Mercedes is now rolling out the MBUX 3.3 software update over-the-air to more than 700,000 vehicles across the world.
This update brings with it an Amazon Music app, as well as support for Dolby Atmos in Amazon Music, Audible, and Tidal, and support for the IMAX Enhanced format with DTS:X audio for Ridevu by Sony Pictures.
There's also a new Calendar app with unified login and "integration across productivity apps for easier in-vehicle management of meetings and schedules". You can even initiate Microsoft Teams calls from the app, and voice control lets you request a briefing or an overview of your day.
The new Gamepack brings "a curated selection of retro-style mini-games", which are "designed for quick entertainment during breaks or while driving".
Finally, the MBUX Voice Assistant now lets you adjust additional vehicle settings via speech, though Mercedes hasn't actually mentioned what those settings are, so you'll have to just discover them for yourself once the update hits your car.
