The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV is even better now

Max McDee, 19 June 2025

The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV is a clear signal of Chevy's ambitious plans. This electric pickup truck arrives with impressive skills, ready to challenge perceptions of what an EV can do. With a remarkable range and a new, rugged trim, the Silverado EV wants to be a workhorse for the modern age, proving that electric power can go the distance and tackle tough jobs.

The 2026 Chevy Silverado EV has a maximum estimated range of up to 493 miles, and it can tow 12,500 lb and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 4.5 seconds (on a side note - that’s exactly what 1999 Nissan R34 GT-R managed back in the day). These figures expose the truck's dual nature: a practical vehicle for hauling and a surprisingly quick performer when needed.

A major addition for the 2026 model year is the introduction of the new Trail Boss trim. This off-road focused version of the Silverado EV gets the 725-horsepower powertrain (760 hp with Open Watts mode), a 5 cm lift resulting in 24% more ground clearance compared to the base model. The Trail Boss comes equipped with specialized Terrain Mode, which enhances control on uneven surfaces, and a finely tuned suspension for improved off-road capability. It also gets exclusive design elements, including Trail Boss badges inside and out, 35-inch all-terrain tires, a high-angle front-end design, and distinctive red tow hooks.

Like the base Silverado EV LT, the Trail Boss trim offers Chevrolet's versatile Multi-Flex Midgate. This clever feature allows owners to open a section between the truck bed and the cabin, extending the available cargo space to a generous 129.9 inches. This makes it easier to transport longer items such as kayaks or camping gear. With the extended-range battery, the Trail Boss can tow up to 12,500 lb and handle a maximum payload of 2,101 lb.

2026 Chevy Silverado EV Range Starting MSRP

LT Max 478 miles $91,295
Trail Boss Extended 410 miles $72,095
Trail Boss Max 478 miles $88,695

Inside the cabin, the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV gets a large 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 11-inch driver display, both integrated with Google built-in services. Buyers can opt for a 14-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) and GM's Super Cruise driver assist technology, which is available even when towing on both the LT and Trail Boss trims.

The good news just keeps on coming. Chevrolet also decided to reduce prices across the lineup for the 2026 Silverado EV. The Work Truck trim now starts at a base price of $54,895, which is $2,200 less than the previous model. The Silverado EV LT is almost $10,000 cheaper, now available from $62,995 with a range of up to 283 miles. Extended and Max Range battery packs, with EPA-estimated ranges of 410 miles and 478 miles respectively, start from $68,295 and $76,295. The new Trail Boss trim starts at $72,095, while the Max battery pack option for the Trail Boss starts at $88,695.
