Tesla’s NACS offer refuted by CharIN - CCS is the global standard

Type 2 CCS is far superior to both NACS and Type 1 CCS. China similarly want their own standard. NACS is unlikely to spread any further than its current borders as a result. But it will dominate in North America
I can, however, see a situation where a future CCS 3.0 will utilise NACS because the plug is so small it can easily be incorporated and potentially allow for larger DC pins while still keeping the standards already in place. That's a long way off though

First Ford adapts NACS, now GM. Looks like CharIN may be the ones to to be reminded that standards need to follow economic realities, not the other way around.

Hetor, 28 May 2023CCS is to electric cars what the original USB connector was (Pretty good) Tesla's NACS... more100% agreed. In North America, Ford and GM have now signed up to NACS - a big win all round, for consumers, Ford, GM, Tesla and the industry as a whole. I wonder what it would take for EU commission to delve into the possibilities of a more practical solution than CCS(2) across europe? Maybe not likely any time soon since it is already heavily regulated. Maybe the next iteration of the CCS standard will be a bit more similar.

Tesla's NACS is a USB-C. AKA much better and inevitably adopted by everyone whithin 5 years.
