15 November 2024
President Trump has the $7,500 EV tax credit in his sight. The EV industry in the US is heading for a rocky future, with electric cars about to get significantly more expensive.

And got an oil baron as energy secretary.
It was clear he wants to help and continue or increase the subsidies for his oil corpo friends.

Perhaps he will even manage to bring smog for every American citizen!

EVs that cost under $40k should be exempted from tariffs and given tax credits for faster EV adoption. Just like in Costa Rica. They can tax and add tariffs on EVs that cost $40k or more

Musk may well believe that if his hurts other manufacturers more than him - and so enables him to maintain a lead in the US market, that will be good for his share price.

The truth is that if the US system demanded probity and no conflict of interest Musk would not be allowed to take this government role without divesting himself from any of his companies that seek government contracts. But the oligarchs are no longer even concerned about the corruption being plainly visible.

better if elon creates something called freedomx fund.
basically, it's a tax, or better worded a 'nonoptional donation'.
freedomx will be paid by nonamericans, mainly euros, to support americans and freedom.
tv ad in europe, 'thank you for your service in supporting freedom' add vids of dday landings.

Tesla discounts the local price of the Model 3 AWD to get under the California $45,000 incentive restriction and grab another $7,500+$2,000 in State subsidies.

Is someone repeating others' efforts to spread fear, uncertainty, doubt, to trigger sales in 2024 during a painful downturn in vehicle sales? The new 2025 models will be much improved (2025 Porsche 718, 2025 Ioniq 5, 2025 Tesla Model Y, etc.) addressing multiple often understated flaws. Or just wait for 2026 when new regulations will dramatically improve choices for EV and/or PHEV (including Rivian R2, Lexus, Toyota)!

My prediction, the tax credit is modified so as to shift attribution...

When Biden pretty much banmed Chinese cars from the US by putting a dumb racist Chinese import fee , that's the day when I realised the US doesn't care about a green environment, it's all about the money.

the ev credit is pretty stupid.
some ways trump can help elon make money.
a. america has the largest navy and airforce.
time to start charging euros more for protection.
b. harvest euro companies and bring them to america.
euros can buy audi made by tesla in ohio or walk.
