Electric car sales surge 30% globally, China leads
- Disappointed
I would love a BYD or something, because they're better designed than any Tesla. But the United States is becoming more isolationist, and it's unlikely we'll see anything worth a damn imported in the next decade.
At least half of Americans could benefit from a reasonably priced EV. By that, I mean anything under $25k. But the majority here are gouged to hell and tax incentives are worthless to the working class. Taking $7500 off $50k isn't good enough. With taxes, registration, insurance and dealer scalping it simply isn't worthwhile.
I don't know a single working-class person that's bought a new car since COVID. The manufacturing quality of most cars here have fallen off since then. Dealers selling cars with missing modules and sensors, promising to deliver them later. Trim you can break off with your hands. Sluggish interior computer systems. Embarrassing prices. Like, is $1000 a month to insure and pay off a Honda Accord supposed to be a joke?

Well planned city which doesn't require too much travelling for basic necessities , with good public transport system like electric monorails etc. is better for environment than EVs. When comparing with ICE, EVs are better for environment. ICE hits junkyard every 15 years, EVs just need battery swap.

EVs reduce tail pipe emissions to Zero, which causes smog and respiratory issues in cities. That's the problem they solve. That's the problem Euro emission standards work on for ICE. EVs are not meant to resolve power generation issues, just like Emission standards don't.

Just because It's not in a city doesn't mean It doesn't pollute the air.

Factoring in impact of batteries is illogical, considering how they are made away from city and efficiency is consistently improving. Research is not needed to understand any of that.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2025EVs are better cars than ICE. Its not just the environment factor anymore. And when was It actually about the environment?
There is nothing environmental about electric cars and their batteries.
If It was really about environment, then people should use bikes, If not possible due to distance or weather then mass transportation, which would include EVs.

the issue is with liberals.
first they scream environment environment environment.
then libs found their messiah in elon.
buy buy buy.
now they do some arson to save the environment.
funny thing is, 'ai' is another field that will backfire.
liberals found their new messiah in sam altman.
the guy selling 'ai' is literally 'you will own nothing and be happy'
in the future, elon will post that 'first time' meme.

All EVs with 800V architecture, 40Kwh battery, L2 ADAS, made with gigacasting are selling well. EV car market has moved beyond %. Its just the question of, will you make the car with these specs? Yes? Then people will buy it. If you make expensive EV with electric motor in ICE platform, it wont sell.

It's good that only the referenced 2024 Jan-Feb data is missing from the chart. And that we don't count the visible change between December 2024 and January 2025.
