So then also cigarettes, alcohol, weed, sugar, chemical agents in food, ev battery's, fluorescent lights....millions of things
Who decides what harmful habits are and what are not?

A better way would be to let the purchases decide, but then nobody would be buying evs in the first place

All this "boom of ev sales" is misleading, without government subsiding, companys buying fleets of cars (wich they also regret are evs from what i hear but hey cheaper is cheaper), leasing deals, heavy discouts...etc..you wouldn't sell 100 in a year

People being brainwashed by propaganda into buying expensive electro cars helps too

I cant tell you how many people here I have talked to, have heard, have written in forums, etc that they will never buy electro again. Don't belive the media, they have their agendas

Not everybody needs, wants, or can use an electric car

Aside from maybe USA and China there is no infrastructure for everyone to drive electric and will not be in the near future

Besides , more choices is always better

And can the atitude towards gas drivers, we don't call you out on destroying the environment with every ev you buy do we?

Thing is the governments went about it in a wrong, or at least incomplete, way. Announcing bans on ICE by year this or that does not work in a democratic system - the decision can be canceled or postponed by the later administration - it is binary and carries a lot of political cost, chances of it being moved are high. Should go with practical capitalist solution and tax the shit out of harmful habits - set up a plan for increasingly drastic tailpipe emission taxes, this way mass market is disincentivized from reliance on dinosaur juice while the rich aholes can still get their shiny V12s while paying dearly for it.

This is interesting, because it flies in the face of the rest of VAG ... but Porsche is very reliant on the US, and hasn't produced any even semi-compelling cars lately - ICE or electric. Taycan was interesting when it launched, but it's old as hell now.

Long live, gasoline engines! Great news.

When a newcome, Xiaomi, ridiculised your firm in your own land with less than 3 years experience, you have to worry. The actual search of chinese automakers for european factories means that within 5 years, all european auto companies will be dead or bought by chnese firms.

its only going to get worse. what did germans expect.
germans turned their back on nuclear and cheap russian energy.
eu starts a trade war with china.
