Anonymous, 05 Oct 2025Why should we go electric cars and vans When I see 20 yr old buses 🚌 out side schools puffing... moreNo one is forcing anyone to go electric, it's simply the better technology. Thomas Built and Blue Bird are, in fact, making electric busses, so it's only a matter of time for each district to switch. Anyone alive today can probably drove their gas car for the rest of their life, but maybe just try to drive one and see for yourself? Personally, I'm absolutely never going back to gas for multiple reasons (cost, noise, smell, vibration, efficiency, acceleration, smoothness, convenience, simplicity, etc.). I'm also seeing electric busses and delivery trucks (USPS) pop up in my neighborhood lately, which is a welcome quiet and there's no daily poof of smoke in my face. After 30 years of driving gas, I'm done. The technology has seen its days. The future is quiet and without exhaust pipes pointed at our children.

Here are the actual prices mentioned in the video.
Leap Motor C10 - £36,500
BYD Seal U - £59,000
Skoda Enyaq Coupe - £50,260
XPeng G6 - £45,000
Kia EV3 - £36,005
Tesla Model Y - £48,990

Xpeng is not bad in efficiency, but Leap Motor and especially BYD are bad.
The Chinese cars are not that cheap, but GB does apply 10% tariffs on Chinese cars, not sure about tariffs on Skoda, Tesla and KIA, If they are also 10% or less.

To me Tesla Model Y looks like the best option although I am not a fan of a single display controlling all, but whatever.

  • Oh the irony

Ironic to see the chinese car being the least efficient, least refined WHILE BEING THE MOST EXPENSIVE.

Please ArenaEV. Don't mix GBP and Euros. It's either one or the other.
Otherwise it give the impression that the chinese cars are actually the same price as the Skoda. Which is wrong. They are 20% more expensive.

I checked the review and It's both good and bad.

The most economic Tesla Y cost 17.4 pence/mile while RSQ8 24.79 pence/mile, It cost 30% less.
You would say not bad, but we are talking about a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 produces 631 horsepower managing 60mph in 3.1s. That's clearly not an economic car, so this result is pretty bad.

On the other hand, If you can charge at home then you pay

Wow, groundbreaking journalism here — pitting EVs against a 2.5-ton V8 Audi RSQ8, one of the thirstiest gas-guzzling SUVs on the market. What’s next, comparing energy efficiency of a bicycle to a cargo ship? If you wanted a fair comparison, maybe throw in a normal diesel wagon or hybrid instead of a €150k status symbol that guzzles fuel like it’s free. Of course a tuned-for-performance RS is going to look bad on running costs… this isn’t range supremacy, it’s just cherry-picking.
