The car is great and the design is good, speed is adequate, and yes, it was made for city only, not for long journeys, not because of speed limit, but because it's not for the highways. Acceleration to 50km/h is very fast.
I would only ask to make the rear seats suitable for tall people, because most of my friends and I are 185cm+ and I put them there. Unlike in Inster, I will not fit in the rear of the Twingo or Five

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2025I'm not even sure what point are you trying to make here. Korean and Japanese entrance to... moreMy point is that you are criticizing Chinese entry to European market, but ignoring Korean and Japanese automakers, which are here for many years. They are also a very strong competition.

European car makers are losing ground in China because they are not as competitive as they used to be and chinese brands are catching up to them or surpassed them in some aspects, but they were and are still making much more money there than they ever made in Korea or Japan.
So I find It funny how you don't like that Chinese are selling cars here despite the fact european brands are selling cars there for many years and profited big time from It. At best you can criticize that Chinese are not making cars here in Europe, but that is also starting to change.

Do you think the jobs in Germany were lost only because of Chinese cars? Please first check out how many cars made by Chinese are sold in Europe and how many by Japanese or Korean brands.
If european car makers are not competitive and europeans are choosing foreign brands, then not only Chinese brands profit from It but also Korean, Japanese brands or American brands.

Correct?

This car has a small range, It's good only for the city or shorter distances between cities. Do you disagree?

And 130km/h is pathetic, they should have left some headroom there(150-160km/h).

European cars are losing market share in China due to intense competition from Chinese manufacturers, particularly in the EV segment.

My point is that the European car industry is providing 13 million jobs and contributing 7% of the EU’s GDP.

For example, in Germany alone, 50000 jobs in automotive industry were lost in last year, and it will probably get much worse.

So, if European manufacturers can't offer competitive vehicles at competitive prices, it really is a big problem.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2025True. The looks are subjective. It's inspired by the first generation Renault Twingo. Looks indeed subjective but this is unique compared to all the other big fat SUV blobs (which are definitely mostly ugly)

And for a small car, one does not need a battery as big as for a pick up truck. Probably one of the kids coming over from GSMArena who does not even have a drivers license but only cares about Lamborghini and Bugatti.

Why all the snarky comments about the battery and charging? Oh right, because the author is Vlad, the same guy raving on chinese phones for using heavy, fast-degrading 6500mAh Si/C batteries + bad software optimization compared to Apple/Samsung/Google with 5000mAh Li/Ion + good software optimization. One must be a poor soul to be only driven by range/battery anxiety instead of acknowledging that charging can be done at night.

Anyway, concerning the car itself, seems like nice well-rounded specs, basically what the facelift e-up! was before it was discontinued, and more importantly, at a price where the only competition is the Dacia Spring. So I hope it comes to market quick.

This is just so hillarious, LMAO
For how many years are Korean and Japanese selling their cars here? And Its a significant share of the EU market, yet you bring up Chinese cars? Ridiculous.
In China our companies are selling their cars even If under joint ventures with Chinese, but at least in big numbers.
Now how many european cars are sold in Japan or Korea?

Given that R5 had consumption of 8.8 kWh at 60 km/h on ArenaEV test, and Twingo being at least 200 kg lighter, I expect some spectacular results in that respect. Seemingly a great choice for second family car.

It's a shame that they couldn't (or maybe didn't want to) squeeze at least 100 horses out of that engine and also faster DC charging that could make it charge 20-80% in ca. 15 minutes. It would make it so much more suitable for long(ish) trips and it could consequently serve as first and only car for many people. Sheer volume of sales would eventually repay higher costs of production for Renault.

And finally, let's not forget the significance of this kind of cars for defense of European car industry against galloping Chinese products.

Another electric trash on streets to save the planet.

lol, as was typed so it shall be..decline of eu in a nutshell
but for euro sheep who like to be gaslit
'good day good sir, what an amazing feat of engineering'
'this machine is top quality'

What are you commentors on about, 1200kg for an EV is very little, Dacia Spring is right under a tonne but it's flimsy as heck

  • Anonymous

No DC charging and abysmal AC charging for the entry model? Still 1200+ kilos? European companies are going backwards in tech. Car shown in these pictures is probably 30.000+ euros. Hard pass!!!

  • Yani

360L boot capacity?
My Hyundai Kona EV has only 330L!
That's really impressive for such a small car!
Too bad the battery capacity went from 32.3 kWh for the Škoda Citigo iv to 27.5 kWh for Twingo.
It should go up (around 35 kWh). At least it's not the same as Dacia Spring with 25 kWh.

If it had some zippy motor to make it a little fun, it would have more appeal, but with 12s 0-100km/h this is a sloth.

Fearghast, 07 Nov 2025TBH, the only thing I really do not like about this car is the weight. I heard something like ... moreThe Renault Zoe weighted 1500kg with a 41kWh battery, so I think the weight is correct. It it heavy indeed!

I heard something like 1,2 tons? That sounds absurd, but I have my hopes up, it was some kinda mistake on reviewer part.
Other than that, it look pretty nice to me.

Fearghast, 07 Nov 2025Finally, the Škoda Citigo EV successor. Is It that great?
130km/h speed and 27.5kWh battery are pathetic.
And asking 20,000 for an ugly city car is a lot. And the highest trim will be likely over 20grand.

Finally, the Škoda Citigo EV successor.
