Apple Watch and WearOS smartwatches can now unlock your VW car

Volkswagen now allows owners of most 2020 and newer vehicles, including electric cars, to control functions like locking, charging, and climate from an Apple Watch or Wear OS smartwatch.

With the 9.99 monthly subscription for something so basic as "virtual key", VW put me off from buying their car. Those marketing idiots still can't understand that any subscription , no mater how insignificant puts people off buying!!! VW take a hint - the success of BMW seat heating subscription!
Also note that when I BUY a car i don't want any hassle of "engagement" with some badly written useless app, I have better things to do , (even when stuck in a traffic)
Car makers are notorious for writing exceptionally bad software.

Having to pay to have an app unlock your VW car is basically like not having the ability at all. BYD unlocks free of charge. W BYD, L VW.
