I like the idea of having enough range to not necessarily charge it every 3-4 of days.
Too bad it's way too expensive for me lol

If you mention charging at home, it is still not the norm. And when you must leave the car somewhere public to charge, looking for free spots, working chargers, etc., it can cause a headache.

The problem is that you still need ideal circumstances for an EV.

I didn't reach 200 but did 180 many times. For me driving at constantly changing speeds back and forth between 130 and 200, slowing down for every slow car or track in the left lane is even more tiring. At such speeds I have to charge every 300 km but I don't mind cause my head is already spinning. St 130 I can do 400km but I have to stop earlier most of the time...

Anonymous, 20 Nov 2025Really? And how many times in a year you or your friends are travelling 300km or more per day?... moreIf I was traveling 200km a day I would charge at home every day or 2. That's what I do practically so stopping to charge only occurs during long distance trips every hew months. If you don't have the possibility to charge at home or at work, or anywhere where your car is parked anyway, then you should really weight your options, you are right

Anonymous, 20 Nov 2025lets be honest here..germany is majority of eu. without germany, eu would be another mexico. No matter how overstated your claim, Germany is in the process of limiting autobahn speeds to global EU limit of 130 km/h anyway

Cars are designed to satisfy majority of users, not your specific - and obviously sub-optimal - case. Though even for you, a home charging would pretty much solve any problems - it will be hard to find a modern EV that cant do 200 km daily and charge it through the night even with modest 11 kWh AC charger.

I am travelling 200km to and from work per day, so If I had to also wait 20min 3x per week to recharge the car I would mind It a lot.

Of course If you travel that much once a month then I also wouldnt mind waiting 20minutes.

at those speeds evs need to be competitive with ice refueling.
how much 20 min pausing would like you before it becomes annoying.
i thought europeans are supposed to be good at math
strange

These stunts are for nothing. If they would have made the trip with a realistic scenario that would have been much more interesting and relevant. Why not just drive normally, showcase all the nice things inside the cabin that you can use during a ride... They had to stop to sleep anyway so what's the harm in charging then?

"Stopping for a charge is often described as one of the worst downsides for an EV over an ICE vehicle."
Yeah, by people who do not own an EV...
And I am not talking about a trip through Europe with a Fist 500e. Everyone I know driving a descent range ev does not mind a 20 Min Pause every 300 km... Nobody needs a 1000km range and exaggerating the "downside" in every article that has to do with EV range and charging time is a bad way of adding views...
