A new study shows how bad touchscreen-centric car controls are for road safety

Very surprised to see Volve so low. I thought most of their newer lineup was basically a tablet bolted to the dashboard

Very important post. Personally, i could very well do without those massive screens. A proper battery and energy management is most important. The rest with manual buttons or voice control.
Sometimes i think companies which previously advertised their efficient propulsion system to distinguish themselves from others are now using the screen and entertainment for that purpose. Nobody seems to care anymore how the car drives and handles.

This isn't an issue for Chinese cars, their OS are smooth, lag-free, and easy to use. The screen is also super large, so it's easy to see.

Vi bilägare translates to "Us car owners", and that they are from an countr where some of the most important car safety features and laws are worse, but i expected them to be dangerous
They will soon probably be banned her because ofthe post, and autopilot bans.

Excellent posting. Would love to see a similar study on how many feet and/or seconds is measured between when a self-driving systems initiates a hand-off, and supervising drivers notices, analyzes, and reacts.
