Tesla cleared factory inventories and got little help from climbing fuel prices to beat Wall Street’s third-quarter delivery estimates, but an aging lineup and Chinese rivals put a lot of pressure on the company.

Shocking operating cost: Some repairs are 400% above typical, implemented by often inexperienced poorly trained gig-like workers. Insurance is crazy expensive (even double the cost compared to other vehicles). Charging computations are often mis-calculated and rarely a bargain unless it is free. The real cost to maintain and operate can be much higher than media might tend to suggest.
